Amber Taverns is planning to reopen the Watercress Harry pub in Kettering town centre pub this summer under a new name, The Stitching Pony, in respect of the town’s leather trade.
The pub operator and brewer has had the £700k refurbishment plans for the pub approved, with aims for completion by August or September.
The company has stated that the new pub won’t sell food and children will not be allowed, as it wants the revamped site to be a premium, contemporary-styled bar that sells a range of gins and cocktails, plus a carefully selected wine list and craft ales.
The pub would be open from 9am to 1am every day and would create three or four full-time and between 15 and 20 part-time jobs.
