Dirty Bones, the London comfort food and cocktail restaurant brand, is to open its latest site on 7 December on the roof terrace at Westgate shopping centre in Oxford.
In addition to being Dirty Bones’ largest and first restaurant to open outside of London, Dirty Bones Oxford will also feature a collection of brand new dishes developed exclusively for the launch.
Building on the playful NYC-inspired comfort food menu made popular at Dirty Bones Kensington, Carnaby, Shoreditch and Soho, the Oxford menu will feature new on-the-bone dishes like the sweet peach & BBQ glazed Smoked Baby Back Ribs, an expanded taco selection led by the Cheeseburger Tacos, and vegan and vegetarian-friendly dishes, including the Gem Lettuce & Grilled Halloumi Salad and quinoa, pecan and black bean Veggie Burger. Just in time for Christmas, a limited-edition Holiday Burger and other festive dishes will also feature.
In a nod to its beginnings as a West London gourmet hot-dog stand, Dirty Bones Oxford will also be bringing back the famed hot dogs from its Kensington original, including the legendary Dirty Dog topped with BBQ pulled pork, crispy bacon and jalepen~o cheese.
Dirty Bones will also be serving Oxford their cure-all weekend brunch menu, complete with new dishes like the deep dish Double Dutch Pancake and Short Rib Pastrami Hash, along with Bottomless Boozy Brunch Cocktails recently launched in Shoreditch, Soho and Kensington.
The team are thrilled to be expanding the Dirty Bones family to include Oxford. Founder & Director of Operations, Cokey Sulkin, has said of the opening, “Oxford is a vibrant, youthful city with so much history – a great balance of old meets new. The Dirty Bones concept is the same, combining the nostalgia of old-school Brooklyn with creative comfort food and cocktails that echo NYC’s innovative, evolving food scene. Oxford feels like a natural home to us, and we couldn’t be more excited for it to be our first home outside the capital.”
Overseen by Macaulay Sinclair, the design will take its inspiration from 1970’s Brooklyn, embracing rich colours and dim lighting complimenting plush velvet fabrics and reclaimed statement furniture. Complete with a heated outdoor dining area, separate drinks lounge, open kitchen and spacious central bar, the restaurant will also bring the brand’s original playlist of old-school hip hop, funk and soul to the varied collection of restaurants on the recently opened Westgate Oxford roof terrace.
