National pub group, Amber Taverns has acquired the Thr3 Bar, a closed public house situated in the Derbyshire town of Ripley, through Christie & Co, off an asking price of £375k.
The two storey pub boasts an open plan ground floor trading area with a horseshoe shaped bar, raised seating area and dance floor. There is a first floor function room which can accommodate 65 covers, along with a five bedroom owner’s accommodation.
Previously owned by local businessman Bob Dunn, Thr3 Bar has been purchased by Amber Taverns, a Blackpool based pub company that owns 135 public houses across the North, Midlands and Wales. Amber Taverns will undertake a comprehensive refurbishment of the property and plan to re-open the venue in early summer of 2018.
Gavin Webb, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Nottingham office who handled the sale, commented, “I’m delighted to have secured a sale of the property for Mr Dunn to a well established national operator in Amber Taverns. The transaction demonstrates strong demand for public houses for continued licensed use.”
