Shopping centre developer Westfield has had plans approved for a £1bn White City regeneration plan next to its vast shopping centre.
The giant scheme will take place over more than 15 years and includes an extension to the Wood Lane shopping centre, resulting in a leisure complex, offices and new restaurants. 1,500 homes will also be built in five high-rise blocks, ranging from eight to 20 storys, along with public green space.
Westfield will contribute £20m toward community improvements, including £3.9m for works at Shepherds Bush overground train station and £1m towards highways and junctions.
Work is due to start on the project some time after 2014 and once finished up to 6,700 jobs will be created under the project.
