John Lewis is rather quietly opening mini-stores within Waitrose supermarkets, the latest being in a new shop in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
Situated at the back of the supermarket offering 700 products, this is the fifth 'mini-John Lewis' opened by the group's chairwoman, Dame Sharon White (pictured).
It offers Waitrose shoppers a dedicated department store selling products drawn predominantly from John Lewis’ Cook & Dine and Gifting categories, with the focus very much on own-brand lines.
White's plan is to see the majority of the 331 supermarkets offering a John Lewis mini-store, as the company reshapes its estate.
