A North Yorkshire market town is set to be wowed with a brand new convenience store when the Nisa Local opens its doors in Bedale.
The shop, which is owned by Nisa key account Kash Retail, was previously a Spar although the premises have been standing empty for more than 18 months.
Work is now underway to open the 2,300 sq.ft. store in early April with a host of new services to be offered as well as a broad range of products.
The Bedale site is the eighth for Kash Retail with other stores, all operating under a Nisa fascia in North Yorkshire and the North East of England.
Working with Nisa’s format and development team and Active Shopfitters, the store will boast the latest energy efficient chillers and lighting contrasting with some original features which are part of the listed building.
The store will also have a strong food and drinks to go offer located in the entrance alongside a small seating area where shoppers will be encouraged to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Alistair Bush, area manager, said, “This will be one of our largest stores and we are trying out a few new ideas to see what works. It will be the first time we have tried the food to go coupled with the eating in concept and so we are interested to see how that goes.
“We’ve worked closely with the team at Nisa to get the store design right and have tried to personalise it. We’re now looking forward to finishing the project and opening our doors to shoppers.”
