Jones and Sons set to unveil second restaurant in South Woodford

Andy Jones, proprietor of Jones & Sons in Dalston, East London, is gearing up to launch a second establishment under the same brand in South Woodford this coming June.

Jones & Sons' newest location will inhabit the former premises of Elmo's Pizza. Spanning two floors, it will accommodate 150 guests indoors and an additional 50 on an outdoor terrace.

The upper ground floor will feature a stylish bar area alongside two distinct dining spaces, whereas downstairs will boast an open kitchen with a cosy chef's table, complemented by a chic cocktail bar and a versatile function room.

Jones (pictured on the right) initiated the venture in Dalston back in 2013, specialising in contemporary British cuisine. Rapidly garnering acclaim, especially for its enticing brunch and delectable Sunday roasts, the establishment became a local favorite. Notably, the restaurant served as the backdrop for the 2019 Stephen Graham film 'Boiling Point,' with Jones himself serving as an inspiration for the lead character.

In addition to the restaurant, the restaurateur oversees an on-site café situated at 3 Mills Studios in Hackney. Moreover, they manage commercial catering trucks and run a catering delivery company based in London.

Jones said: 'I’m really bloody proud of this latest venture. It’s been a long time coming and perhaps it’s age and experience, but I’ve found myself drawn to more varied and comforting dining these past years post pandemic. So while my heart will always belong to Hackney, my head is constantly looking for a logical progression, and all roads lead to South Woodford, as they say?!

'My ultimate goal with the E18 site is to create a sense of home away from home for our guests, but deliver it in true Jones & Sons’ style. It may sound cliché, but there’s something special about seeing people relax into their seats, knowing they’re in for a memorable experience. Whether it’s a romantic date, a casual catch-up with friends, indulging in a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and wine, or letting loose over brunch, I want everyone to feel welcomed and cared for at Jones & Sons, South Woodford.'

Leading the culinary team will be Kieran Hope, who serves as the head chef at Jones & Sons' original location (pictured on the left).

Among the standout offerings will be signature dishes such as tuna ceviche with a delightful twist of strawberry ponzu and sesame, as well as honey miso cod accompanied by apple dashi. Additionally, guests can savor tempura courgette flowers generously filled with goats' cheese and drizzled with wild honey.
