London's mayor Boris Johnson has just approved a £1bn extension to the Westfield shopping complex at Shepherd's Bush.
The plans from the mall's operator and developer, Westfield Shoppingtowns, will see the opening of a new 230,000 sq ft John Lewis store and the creation of 6,700 jobs. It will also include restaurants and cafes, office space, a children’s play area, a new leisure complex and over 1,300 new homes.
Boris Johnson said, 'This expansion will create thousands of much-needed new homes and jobs and ensure that the area remains one of West London's leading shopping destinations for years to come.'
