Babbo, a new neighbourhood Italian restaurant, will officially open its doors in St John's Wood. Offering a charming all-day dining experience, the restaurant will focus on authentic Italian cuisine, from breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, rooted in family and traditions.
Set to bring a taste of La Dolce Vita meets Little Italy to the heart of the neighbourhood, and nestled among St. Johns Wood High Street, the restaurant, Babbo, meaning “Daddy” in Italian, will embody a welcoming atmosphere for all of its guests. The restaurant, seating up to 84 guests, will consist of three main inside areas, including a dining space, an intimate cosy semi-private lounge and a vibrant bar. Outside, a covered, heated terrace seating up to 24, will allow guests to enjoy the ambience of scenic St John’s Wood, all year round.
Ideal for leisurely lunches or celebratory dinners, Babbo is set to be the perfect location for all occasions. Designed by Studio Du Feu, the restaurant’s interiors centre around the Mediterranean, with inspiration taken from the rich cultural heritage of the area. Babbo’s interiors feature bespoke resin flooring and intricate tiled patterns, creating a welcoming space that resonates with visitors and locals alike. The intimate bar and lounge areas combine warm burgundy leather with dark timber finishes, complete with a wine wall showcasing Babbo’s selection of fine wines. A custom-made illuminated mirrored ceiling especially created for Babbo, sits above the bar adding a touch of artistry and elegance to the space.
Babbo’s menu has been meticulously created by Executive Chef Nicola Cariglia, and will celebrate the elegance and simplicity of traditional Italian cooking. The menu will feature a range of signature dishes inspired by secret family recipes passed down from generation to generation. Breakfast and brunch highlights are set to include, Poached Eggs on toasted brioche bread with sauteed spinach and aged parmesan (£12), Crispy Neapolitan Sfogliatelle filled with Vanilla Chantilly Cream (£3.50), and Babbo Granola Supreme with greek yoghurt, marmalade figs, puffed granola and seasonal fruit (£8). Those dining for lunch or dinner can enjoy starters such as Babbo Parmigiana (£14), Carpaccio Di Manzo, beef fillet with mustard dressing, aged parmesan and rocket (£16) and Arancini Al Tartufo Nero, charred aubergine puree and grated winter black truffle (£18). For dinner, guests can enjoy highlights including Polletto Alla Griglia, grilled spatchcock baby chicken marinated in spices with charred lemon (£22) and Spaghettoni Con Vongole Versaci E Datterino, spaghettoni gragnano cooked in fish broth, clams and datterini tomatoes (£22), each crafted with providence and produce at heart.

A wine list, featuring a selection of wines will also be available.

Our vision is to create a space where guests can gather to enjoy delicious food, great wine, and the company of friends and family. We believe in the power of good food to bring people together and look forward to welcoming our neighbours to Babbo!.”
