Creams franchise expands with new Epsom dessert cafe

Epsom’s first Creams dessert cafe has opened, bringing eight new jobs to the local area in Surrey. Owner Khawaja Hassan funded the opening with a £284k finance package from HSBC.

The Surrey-based franchisee used the six-figure funding to refurbish the café premises in Epsom and purchase state-of-the-art equipment, including a counter and freezers.

Epsom locals can now enjoy Creams’ famous sky-scraping rainbow-coloured ice-cream sundaes and freshly-made crêpes filled with fresh fruit, nuts and salted caramel. Those looking for something a little out of the ordinary can also indulge in the dessert world’s latest craze; bubble pop waffles, topped with gelato and sprinkles.

Commenting on the opening, Hassan said, “I am incredibly excited to be opening Epsom’s first Creams franchise with HSBC’s support. I can’t wait to hear what our local customers think of the café and our epic Italian and American-inspired desserts. My relationship manager at HSBC, Mark Poole, was hugely helpful during the process, ensuring I had everything in place to open my first site.”

David Hamblin, HSBC’s Area Director for South London Business Banking, added: “HSBC has extensive franchise experience and my team have worked closely with Khawaja to secure the most suitable funding package for this exciting new outlet. He has big plans to open more sites in the future and we hope to continue our support for this fantastic local entrepreneur.”

The high street dessert chain, founded in 2008, now operates in over 70 locations in the UK and offers customers Italian and American-style desserts.
