The UK's largest Thai restaurant group, Giggling Squid is to open its first London restaurant this summer.
The 110-cover restaurant is due to open in the heart of Wimbledon village, and has potential for a further 75-100 covers upstairs, which will be developed over 2 years.
Giggling Squid co-founder, Andy Laurillard commented, 'We see Brexit as having burst the London bubble a bit and as prices fall, we’ll be looking to capitalise on our strong financial position. The plan is to dramatically expand into the Greater London area over the next few years.'
The company is currently in negotiations to acquire several other properties within the M25.
Giggling Squid is set to open its 20th site in Brentwood this April, which will be followed by an opening in Windsor in early summer.
In 2015, Laurillard and his wife Pranee secured £6.4m from Business Growth Fund for expansion of the brand.
