Jamavar launches delivery menu with five course feast & cocktails


Jamavar, the Indian restaurant in London's Mayfair, has just launched The Royal Kitchen, a new delivery menu that celebrates the joy of feasting with opulent, refined cooking of the princely states and signature secret recipes from its royal kitchens.

Reflecting the restaurant’s ethos of showcasing dishes found in the Royal kitchens of Northern India and the coastal cuisine from the Southern states, the kitchen led by Executive Chef Surender Mohan, draws inspiration from. exploring pan-Indian flavours using a range of authentic cooking techniques from the royal kitchens of palatial India.

The centrepiece of The Royal Kitchen is their Celebration Menu – a five course menu designed for group feasting featuring a selection of their signature dishes available with an optional bespoke cocktail pairing apt for leisurely evenings in the comfort of one’s home.

Guests ordering the feasting option will start with their Signature Chandni Chowk Ki Aloo Tikki, an Indian street food classic made with potato, spiced white peas, yoghurt, tamarind & mint chutney.

Larger dishes include Adraki Lamb Chops - grilled in their Tandoor oven and Old Delhi Butter Chicken, a Jamavar classic, made with Suffolk corn-fed chicken fresh tomato & fenugreek.

These come served with an array of side dishes including Saag Paneer; Jamavar Dal; Cucumber Raita and a basket of freshly baked breads including Garlic Naan, Paratha and Chef’s special Kulcha flatbread. For dessert Surender has revived a childhood favourite, Gajrela – his version is made with heritage carrot, milk, clotted cream & pistachio.

A selection of dishes created especially for The Royal Kitchen a la carte menu feature vegan and vegetarian options, including Makai Palak Ke Goolar - Spinach & rice dumplings, mustard yoghurt, pine nuts, raisins & feta; Kathal Bhel - jackfruit cutlets, puffed rice & date-tamarind chutney.

These come alongside Signature classics such as Kid Goat Shami Kebabs; Prawn Chettinad; Alleppey Sea Bass Curry, and Laal Maas - Slow cooked Hampshire lamb & Rajasthani chilli.

Dishes from The Royal Kitchen have been matched with an elegant array of traditional drinks and signature cocktails drawing on the exotic herbs, roots and spices from Jamavar’s Botanical Garden.

Drinks from The Royal Kitchen include Jamavar’s Spring Punch which combines vodka, fresh raspberries, framboise, cre`me de cassis & champagne; Tandoori bullet - charcoal infused Bulleit 95 Rye, Campari, Lillet Rouge; and Madari – their take on a G&T with Monkey 47 gin, pink grapefruit zest, kaffir leaf, Peychaud’s bitters, served with tonic water.
