Yosma launches Manti Month this July

This summer, Yosma will be transporting diners from Marylebone to the bustling meyhane’s of Istanbul with a month long manti takeover in July.

Manti, which are Turkish dumpling delicacies, will take pride of place at the restaurant, with a specially created manti menu, as well as a one-off masterclass hosted by Yosma’s Executive Head Chef Hus Vedat, for those who want to try their hand at mastering the art of manti making.

The manti menu will include dumplings filled with; Lobster, honey, garlic cream and tomato ezme, Aubergine with lor cheese, fresh baby spinach, lemon yogurt and mint, Lamb neck, yogurt sauce and chilli oil and, Crispy manti with chicken, kasar cheese sauce and chilli sucuk.

Yosma’s bar will also be shaking things up with their raki cocktails, from the Ya Sonra with olive, fennel pollen and sparkling wine to the Yosma, their signature cocktail of Turkish apple tea vodka with pomegranate vermouth and raki spices, for an Eastern kick.

The crowning jewel of the Manti reign will come on the 26th of July, when Hus Vedat will be on hand for one night only, sharing the craft of Turkish cooking with guests in Yosma’s open kitchen.

To kick off proceedings, a Pineapple Raki Sour will be served before a step-by-step class taking you through the recipe from start to finish, hand rolling the pastry and creating the fillings under Hus’ expert tutelage. Guests will assemble and shape their dumplings before sitting down to taste the fruits of their labours at the end of the evening.

‘Manti is a staple dish in any Turkish household, and can be found at most dinner tables, meyhanes and family meals up and down the country, but it’s something that not many people in London have had the joy of tasting, and we really want to change that!’ says Hus.

The manti month menu will be available every lunchtime throughout July, and the manti masterclass starts at 7pm on Wednesday 26 July.
