WatchHouse to open new City site on Monday

Specialty coffee company and coffee shop group, WatchHouse is set o open its eighth site at 100 Bishopsgate in London on Monday 20 September.

Situated in the heart of the City, WatchHouse Bishopsgate is another piece of a greater puzzle of expansion, characterised by the brand’s commitment to bricks and mortar over the past two years.

Inspired by its very first cafe, WatchHouse Bermondsey Street, Bishopsgate will be an elevated take on the group’s grab-'n'-go offering; a conceptual espresso bar focused on fast paced specialty coffee service, with a small high quality food offering of WatchHouse bakery goods, sandwiches and salads.

The new site’s emphasis on a high volume and hyper efficient specialty coffee service has led to WatchHouse’s debut partnership with Slayer. Watch House Bishopsgate will feature a Slayer Steam LPX; the culmination of ten years of dedication to design the most advanced barista tool on the market set for maximum interaction and engagement between barista and customer.

Other technology featured behind the bar includes an UberMilk dispenser and QuinSpin, creating a coffee system which prioritises speed and efficiency.

Underpinning WatchHouse is the ethos of Modern Coffee; a holistic approach to creating amazing customer experiences informed by the pillars of people, product and design. Within each new House, WatchHouse demonstrates their passion for coffee, authentic homemade food and beautifully designed spaces, inspired by the heritage of the location itself, and the surrounding community.

100 Bishopsgate stands on ground that was part of the original settlement of Romans who built the foundations of a city we now know as London. This history intimately informed the design process, both in the choice of Italian materials (marble, stone, terrazzo) and the celebration of classical curved shapes incorporated throughout.
