The Athenian to launch Canary Wharf delivery kitchen next week

On Tuesday 22 March, a delivery kitchen from The Athenian will be arriving in London's Canary Wharf.

Award-winning Greek street food group, The Athenian has grown since 2014 from a humble market stall to 14 UK kitchens, one international opening in Madrid, and now Canary Wharf.

The brand's famous gyros and souvlakis are delicately made using a warm and fluffy handmade pita and loaded with flavour-packed chicken or pork whilst their souvlaki’s with meat skewers or halloumi, and generously marinated in fresh Greek herbs.

Not forgetting its plant-based fans, the menu also includes vegan alternatives of halloumi fries, as well as all the signature sauces and vegan gyros. Their tempting sides range from crisp and fluffy courgette fritters to tomato croquettes and oregano-flecked fries.

Founder Tim Vasilakis said, 'When I started The Athenian I wanted to bring Greek food as it's made back home in Athens to the UK. Living in London and going to street food markets, Greek food, especially gyros, were nowhere to be seen so I thought I'd give it a go. And here we are 7 years later, expanding across the globe with no plans of slowing down.'
