Thwaites Fareham hotel reveals £5m expansion


The premier 4-star Solent Hotel & Spa in Fareham is celebrating this summer with a £5m expansion.

From next month guests checking in to the Thwaites Hotel can also check out a brand new 54-bed lodge.

Solent Hotel & Spa General Manager Steve Woodrow explained the new facilities are tailor-made for leisure and business customers on a budget looking for a premium guest experiences.

He said, 'The design of the lodge is modern and fresh with some quirky features to not only make our guests smile, but also to make the very best use of the space.

'It has been inspired by the best of ' beach and city life' and alongside the stylish guest rooms there will be some striking external features, including sculptures and funky street furniture.'

Also, the adjoining Parsons Collar Pub has enjoyed a major makeover. Now named Parsons Collar Pub & Kitchen, there is a new bar and kitchen, featuring a wood-fired pizza oven and ice cream parlour.

It's a great year for Thwaites Hotels, as it is the current AA Hotel Group of the Year. The company's CEO Rick Bailey said, 'It's fantastic to see these major developments at Solent Hotel & Spa, new lodge and the Parson's Collar Pub & Kitchen coming to fruition.

'We've made a huge investment in Fareham because it enjoys a fantastic location and is a big hit among business people and leisure visitors alike.

'The lodge is a fantastic alternative to our luxurious spa accommodation since it offers everything you'd expect from the most modern guest rooms at prices to please every pocket.'
