This month, Bidcorp UK—parent company of Bidfood, Bidfresh, Bidcorp Manufacturing, and Caterfood Buying Group—marks 25 years of successful trading since its acquisition by South African-based Bidcorp.
To celebrate the milestone, all Bidcorp UK depots will host parties, with festivities running for two weeks until Saturday, 23 November. Alongside site-specific activities, every employee will receive an anniversary card with details of a special prize giveaway.
The celebrations commemorate Bidcorp UK’s establishment in 1999, initially launched as 3663 before transitioning through names like Bidvest and Bidvest Foodservice, eventually becoming Bidcorp UK and Bidfood UK, as it is known today.
Andrew Selley, CEO of Bidcorp UK, said: “When I look over the past 25 years, I am delighted to see how far we’ve come to become the thriving, prosperous and inclusive business we are today. While each of our companies has its own individual story, it’s our shared journey that brings us all together.
“To be where we are today couldn’t have happened without the dedication and hard work of the brilliant teams and individuals we have here. So to colleagues past and present, I would like to say a big thank you!
“I’m looking forward to hearing how each depot marks the occasion and to watch each of the businesses continue to go from strength to strength, so here’s to the next 25 years!”
Bidfood recently unveiled a new 15,000 sq. ft. depot in Bodmin, Cornwall, designed to alleviate seasonal pressures on its Lee Mill depot in Devon.
In July, Caterfood Buying Group acquired food and drink wholesaler Turner Price, following Bidcorp UK’s earlier purchase of Leeds-based Northern Bloc Ice Cream.
