Yard Sale Pizza has received backing from investment firm Piper to accelerate its expansion across the UK.
The brand aims to grow to 40 sites within five years, having identified up to 500 potential locations across the UK.
Founded in 2013 by Johnnie Tate and Nick Buckland, Yard Sale Pizza now operates 14 sites across London and recorded a turnover of £13m for the year ending April 2025.
Tate, chief executive of Yard Sale Pizza, said: “We are excited to be entering this new era for Yard Sale with Piper’s investment. Since we first met, Piper’s understanding, enthusiasm and shared vision for the business has been clear.
“Piper have a proven track record in scaling exceptional brands and I am delighted to be partnering with them for our next phase of growth. As we continue to obsess over delivering the very best pizzas, this partnership will allow us to reach even more local neighbourhoods across London and the UK.”
Yasha Estraikh, associate partner at Piper, who will also join Yard Sale Pizza as a non-executive director, added: “We’ve been tracking Yard Sale for some time, and the consistent love for the brand from customers was impossible to ignore. The calibre of their collaborators and their standout site metrics show just how special this brand is.
“We’re excited to work with the team to scale Yard Sale’s winning formula – delivering delicious pizza for everyday sharing moments via a memorable delivery experience to neighbourhoods across the UK. It’s already well on its way to becoming a brand legend.”
The investment from Piper will also help drive the implementation of new technology across Yard Sale Pizza’s operations. The brand, which manages its own in-house delivery service, currently delivers its signature 18-inch pizzas to customers’ doorsteps in an average of just 24 minutes.
Tate and Buckland will remain at the helm of the business, working alongside chair Paul Campbell to steer its next phase of growth.
Piper, the investment firm backing Yard Sale Pizza, has a strong track record of supporting high-growth hospitality brands, with previous investments including Flat Iron, Loungers, Hickory’s Smokehouse, Be At One, Turtle Bay, and Las Iguanas.
