Joules posts LFL December pub sales uplift of 20% boosted by craft lager

Brewer and pub operator, Joule’s has reported that December pub like-for-likes rose by 20%. Managing director Steve Nuttall attributed the strong performance to the company's craft lager.

The firm brews three core beers, along with a seasonal beer created every 3 months The three are: the original Joule's Pale - a classic English Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk - the premium silky copper beer, new age Blonde - inspired from the continental tradition.

The Shropshire-based company has grown rapidly, acquiring four to five new pubs every year recently, and is looking to spend 2016 consolidating its 41 estate portfolio.

Nuttall stated on the firm's website, 'We aim to create not just good pubs, but exceptional pubs which can faithfully represent our brewery, each a Brewery Tap in their area. Warm, cosy, full of character and history and offering the best innkeeping, beer of course, but also where we offer food it will be the very best simple english pub food, a great cup of coffee, a proper gin and tonic or good wine.'
