Next level plans submitted for £75m Exeter shopping centre

The Crown Estate and TH Real Estate’s plans for a £75m extension to Princesshay Shopping Centre have been submitted to Exeter City Council for approval.

The plans would see part of the current bus and coach station site transformed into new restaurants, shops and a cinema, set within substantially revitalised public spaces, including an outdoor amphitheatre.

Outline consent for the scheme was formally granted in July 2016. This saw the basic concept for the scheme approved, including things like its size and scale, and the types of uses that it will include. The Reserved Matters Planning Application looks at detailed design elements of the scheme, covering things like materials and architecture.

John Grinnell, from The Crown Estate, said, “This is a technically complex scheme so we’re very pleased to have submitted the reserved matters planning application before the end of the year. We’re looking forward to a decision on the plans from the City Council in due course.”
