£70m leisure extension planned for Exeter shopping centre

Plans for a £70m leisure extension to Exeter’s Princesshay Shopping Centre will be unveiled at a public exhibition later this month by The Crown Estate and TIAA Henderson Real Estate, joint owners of the popular south west retail destination.

The scheme, known as Princesshay Leisure, will involve regenerating the existing bus station, to create 180,000 sq ft of new leisure accommodation, incorporating a cinema, restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as a substantial new city centre public square and amphitheatre.

The plans will also include a new, modern bus station for Exeter, which, alongside the new development and improved public spaces, will enhance Princesshay’s position as the main gateway to the city centre.

Princesshay Leisure would sit alongside the Council’s proposed leisure centre, which would deliver a new swimming pool and sports facilities.
