Just Eat unites with CurryLife

Just Eat, a leading global marketplace for online food delivery, has announced an important new partnership with CurryLife Magazine, known among its 100,000 strong readership as ‘the voice of the Curry Industry in Great Britain.’

The collaboration marks a shared commitment to supporting and investing in the future sustainability of the estimated 12,000 UK restaurants that make up the nation’s much-loved Indian, Asian and Bangladeshi restaurant industry.

Graham Corfield, UK Managing Director at Just Eat, said, “It has never been a more important time to lend vital support to an industry that has contributed so much to Britain’s culture and provided us with our national dish.

'We are delighted to partner with CurryLife and to aid the excellent work they do to promote the interests of the UK’s vibrant Curry Industry.

'We will continue to invest to help future-proof the many businesses now connected through Just Eat and through CurryLife, as we strive to create the world’s greatest food community.”

Curry remains one of the most popular choices for Just Eat’s growing number of 8.2 million UK customers and Just Eat’s UK platform now has nearly 8,000 restaurant partners in this category to choose from, including award-winning Curry Houses.

The partnership will see Just Eat become the lead sponsor of two key annual events in the community’s calendar: the CurryLife Awards, which shine a light on the industry’s unsung heroes; and the CurryLife Culinary workshop, a not-for-profit initiative designed to continually advance skills and improve standards in what is an increasingly competitive and challenging period for the industry.

The half day workshops bring together around 300 industry members who receive training, advice and the chance to network with leading industry professionals, Michelin starred chefs and restaurant management experts.

The tie-up between the two industry-bodies was officially launched last night at an event to celebrate 15 years since CurryLife issued its first edition. The free bi-monthly magazine is today widely recognised for keeping over 10,000 restaurants informed and connected.

Syed Belal Ahmed, Editor of CurryLife, added, “Just Eat is an industry-leader and, critically, a natural advocate for the many thousand independent restaurants that make up the UK Curry Industry. We are united; both in recognising the significant benefit these businesses bring to our local communities, and in our commitment to seeing this industry continue to thrive.”
