The Royal Oak, a traditional village freehouse situated in the popular conservation village of Burton Leonard near Harrogate, North Yorkshire has been sold through Fleurets, for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £295k.
The new owners are Steve Footman and his partner Lisa Jackson, who were previously at the Half Moon at Newton-on-Derwent near York for roughly 8 years, plan to build on the customer base established by the Burrows.
During a short period of closure, the pair completed a cosmetic refurbishment of the bar and dining room. The pub recently reopened, having extended the food service to seven days a week as well as having increased the drinks selection, which now includes 20 different gins.
The Royal Oak is a traditional village freehouse, located just off Burton Leonard village green. The pub has a range of bar and dining facilities including a 22-cover dining room.
Nick Thomas from Fleurets brokered the sale of the Royal Oak, and commented, “It is pleasing to see that the Royal Oak has been sold to experienced publicans and I am sure that, with the plans that Steve and Lisa have, it will go from strength to strength in their ownership.”
