Esquires Coffee & Cracking Egg partner to open 67 sites


International coffeehouse chain, Esquires Coffee has signed a regional development agreement for the south east of England with The Cracking Egg Company.

The agreement will see Esquires Franchising (UK) and The Cracking Egg Company launch 67 Esquires coffee shops over the next ten years, taking the Esquires' portfolio to 100-plus UK outlets.

Esquires is also in advanced stages of discussions with regional development partners for the north west of England region, and initial-stage discussions with parties interested in north east England, Wales and Scotland.

Esquires Coffee was founded in Vancouver in 1993 by Williamson and Gary Buckland, and launched in the UK in 2000. The company operates franchised and non-franchised stores, and currently has 35 UK sites, with a 36th set to open in Manchester.

In total, the chain has 130-plus stores in Canada, the UK, Ireland, the Middle East, China and Australasia
