Meliá Hotel International, the Spanish hotel company is set to open a third hotel in the UK- and its first outside London.
Construction is due to begin on the four-star, 208 bedroom Innside Manchester Hotel towards the end of the year. It will become part of the new First Street North development which is a major tourist development project and cultural space, including two theatres, five cinemas, art galleries and restaurants. The venue is expected to attract more than one million visitors a year.
Meliá currently operate 350 hotels worldwide under seven brands, with one in London. This deal confirms the company’s interest in the UK, with its second property, the five-star, 157-bedroom ME London, opening this summer ahead of the Olympics.
