Hamilton Park Racecourse appoints new GM


Catering, hospitality and event management specialist, Sodexo has enhanced the team at Hamilton Park Racecourse with the appointment of Iain Monaghan as General Manager.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Iain Monaghan brings a wealth of experience to his role at Hamilton Park, as he looks to drive continued growth of the venue as a destination.

Having risen through the ranks in hotels and restaurants, working in Glasgow and Birmingham, Monaghan has proven himself an impressive manager with a great track record.

His previous position as Operations Manager at the luxurious Lochside House Hotel, Lodges & Spa, the flagship of the RAD Hotel Group, saw Monaghan bring stability to the team and modernising the bar offerings across the site, implementing an exciting new cocktail menu and introducing premium spirits to the offering.

Prior to Lochside House Hotel, he worked as a Senior Manager on Queensferry Crossing Opening Ceremony, which was attended by HRH Queen Elizabeth II and he also worked with Sodexo for the last three events at The Open.

Looking to the future, Monaghan has already expressed his vision for Hamilton Park, he intends to drive the business forward by reviewing the current offers and tailoring new menus and improving the overall visitor experience.

Monaghan said, “Hamilton Park has gone from strength to strength following the recent refurb and there continues to be an exciting journey ahead. The team is very experienced and driven. I’m sure together we will make even more headway.”
