Aimia Foods go greener with 51% recycled plastic

Aimia Foods has today announced that its 5-litre range of dilutable squash and cordial bottles will now be manufactured from 51% recycled plastic (RPET).

As specialists in food and drinks solutions both branded and private label, Aimia Foods is continually looking for ways to reduce its environmental footprint, whether this is through the products themselves, or via the packaging they come in.

Recycling plastics is one of the best ways to reduce packaging entering the broader environment, without compromising on the quality or practicality of the packaging.

Martin Armitt, Head of Marketing, explained the significance of this change,
“We are delighted to be starting 2019 by announcing the use of 51% RPET packaging across our dilutable range. For Aimia Foods, finding more sustainable forms of packaging is a key initiative.

'We are working on a wide range of packaging improvements designed to reduce material usage or avoid the creation of single use plastics and it’s our aim to use recycled materials wherever possible.

'As a leading supplier in food and drink solutions, we have a responsibility not only to reduce and recycle all types of plastic, but to set an example to other UK manufacturers.”

The five litre Freshers range includes ‘Orange’, ‘Lemon’ and ‘Blackcurrant’ in both traditional and No added sugar options, in addition to a Lime Cordial.
