New hotel venture created

A new hotel venture has been launched between Legacy Resorts and Hotels and Longrose Buccleuch Management to form a new hotel management company in an aim to boost their presence in the branded hotel market.

The companies, who are two of the UK’s leading hotel management companies, have created Branded Hotel Management (BHM) to help both companies in different ways. Legacy, who operates 21 hotels under its own name in the UK, aims to expand into the branded market, whereas Longrose Bucceleuch, operator of hotels under Doubletree by Hilton, Mercure and Best Western, plans to grow its market share. Longrose Buccleuch currently operates the Mercure Dolphin Hotel, Southampton, the DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park Hotel, and the Best Western Mosborough Hall Hotel, also in Sheffield.

The new company has already held discussions with a number of leading international hotel brands and investors, with view to operating new developments, existing properties or conversions.

The management board will consist of Legacy’s chief executive Andy Townsend and its managing director Jim Gordon. Longrose Buccleuch directors Garin Davies (pictured) and Andrew Rouse will also join the team.
