Dormy House hotel to close for £5m refurbishment


Dormy House Hotel in the Cotswolds is to close from 19 November for 6 months to undergo a £5m refurbishment.

The 43-bedroom country house hotel , which is one of the highest profile hotels in the Cotswolds, will re-open in the Spring follow extensive work on all of its public spaces and the majority of the bedrooms.

Its £1m purpose-built conference centre – which comprises the 170-delegate Dormy Suite and Orangery, as well as a 25-delegate Terrace Room and syndicate rooms – will also be closed during the refurbishment.

General manager David Field, who has been at the hotel for 30 years, said: 'We have been open since 1977 and, although the hotel has received significant investment before, this is the first time we will close for work to be done.
