Hand Picked Hotels welcomes new Sales & Marketing Manager

Privately-owned hotel group, Hand Picked Hotels has today announced the appointment of Robert Touzel to the role of Sales & Marketing Manager Jersey, responsible for L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa overlooking St Brelade’s Bay and Grand Jersey Hotel in St Helier.

An established sales and marketing professional with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry and originally from Jersey, Touzel has worked with luxury global hotel brands internationally, including Mandarin Oriental, the Langham Hospitality Group as well as the Athenaeum Hotel and Apartments in London. He joins Hand Picked from his recent position as Director of Sales & Marketing with Jumeriah Hotel and Resorts in London.

Touzel commented, “I am delighted to have joined Hand Picked Hotels to lead the passionate and committed teams at L’Horizon and Grand Jersey. The hotels offer the most comprehensive facilities in Jersey for leisure, business and events, occupying enviable positions with dramatic sea views.

'As established hotels on the island, I am looking forward to building on their success and leveraging the great working relationships they have with partners, suppliers, clients and guests.'

Located in the popular town of St Helier and overlooking St Aubin’s bay, Grand Jersey is Hand Picked’s 5 star resort, offering 123 bedrooms and an award-winning health club and spa. The hotel offers a Champagne Lounge and alfresco Terrace to the front, both offering stunning ocean views.

Grand Jersey’s jewel in its crown is Tassili, an exceptional fine dining restaurant awarded 4 AA Rosettes thanks to Chef Nicolas Valmagna’s creative flair for combining local ingredients with classic French flavours.

Originally belonging to George Hicks, a colonel in the Bengal Army and grandfather of the famous actor-writer Sir Seymour Hicks, who built London’s Globe Theatre, L’Horizon stands out on the island as having a fascinating past.

Today, the 106-bed hotel has a Mediterranean feel yet the hotel itself is unmistakably British. Overlooking the picturesque golden sands and crystal clear waters of St Brelades Bay, its seaside position offers a sense of relaxation.

Making the most of its ocean views, the hotel has an extensive Terrace serving drinks and cocktails alongside its signature seafood platters.
