Origin Coffee Roasters to open first coffee shop in East London

Cornwall-based Origin Coffee Roasters has announced it will be opening a 1,000sq ft space in East London in May. The premises is located in Shoreditch and will house a flagship coffee shop, barista training facility and technical support.

General Manager Tom Pye, who placed in the top ten of the SCAE UK Latte Art Championship last year, is leading the team at the new site.

Barista training will be offered by mulitple SCAE diploma holder Alex Passmore and technical support from La Marzocco trained engineer Sam Bratton.

The coffee shop will brew its directly sourced speciality coffee, including special editions such as the highly acclaimed Esmeralda Boquete Geisha.

The team will host events including cuppings and direct sourcing talks by Coffee Development Manager, Joshua Tarlo; Joshua ranked second place in this weekend’s UK Brewers Cup and is Canada’s Barista Champion number 2.

The space itself is being designed by Anna Hart the interior designer behind The Brew House and our newly opened Origin espresso bar at The Exchange in Penzance.
