Maven Leisure to raise £2m to expand its presence with additional London bars

London-based bar group Maven Leisure is seeking to secure £2 million in growth capital to fuel its expansion within the capital city.

The Growthdeck fundraising initiative, will enable Maven Leisure to establish new venues in central London. Among these are plans for a standout sports bar and rooftop bars in two of 'the most iconic locations in the capital'.

At present, Maven operates four prime locations in central London. These include Wagtail, situated on a rooftop in the City of London, alongside three sports bars.

Established in 2021 by Ed Martin and the management team of ETM Group, Maven has swiftly evolved from its inception to become a significant player in the industry. Its roots trace back to a single site and have since flourished into a business boasting an impressive turnover of £33 million. The ETM Group, known for iconic venues such as the Botanist in Sloane Square, has played a pivotal role in Maven's journey.

Maven experienced a surge in revenue to £10.2 million and saw EBITDA climb to £1.4 million by the conclusion of the last financial year. The company anticipates that its upcoming venues will serve as catalysts for continued growth.

Ian Zant-Boer, chief executive at Growthdeck, said: 'Maven Leisure have a proven track record for establishing their venues as leading hospitality destinations in the City.

'Our investment in Maven is based on our strong belief in London's thriving hospitality scene and Ed, Landen and Graham. This fundraise offers investors a brilliant opportunity in the City's premium bar market.'

Maven's leadership is helmed by Martin, along with Prescott Brann, the Chief Financial Officer, who joined from Itsu in 2016. Additionally, Graham Turner, former Chief Executive of Tragus Group, now part of Big Table Group, serves as the Chairman.
