Locanda Locatelli shuts its doors after 23 years of operation

After 23 years of operation, the Michelin-starred Locanda Locatelli in London has closed its doors.

Situated in the Hyatt Regency – the Churchill on Seymour Street, the restaurant has long been a magnet for celebrities, including Kate Winslet, Brad Pitt, and Madonna.

Chef Giorgio Locatelli, alongside his wife, opened the restaurant in 2002, earning a Michelin star just a year later.

Posting the news on Instagram, the Locatellis said: “With a heavy heart, for reasons out of our control, we are now permanently closed. We will miss all of our clients, many who have become friends. But when our door closes, another opens, so please check our social media for updates on our new project.

“We wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2025 and thank you all for your custom over the last 23 years.”

Designed by David Collins, Locanda Locatelli underwent a £1 million refurbishment in 2014.

The menu featured dishes like lobster linguine, pappardelle with broad beans and rocket, and cicerchia soup with whole grain prawn ravioli.
