Exeter City Council has approved The Crown Estate and TH Real Estate’s Reserved Matters Planning Application for the proposed £75m extension to Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter.
The Reserved Matters Planning Application provides more information on detailed elements of the proposals such as the architecture, materials and the specific design of individual buildings and public spaces.
Outline planning permission for the scheme was granted in July 2015, which established that the scale, layout and mix of uses proposed were the right ones for the site.
John Grinnell from The Crown Estate said, “The plans are the product of extensive consultation with the community and a great deal of technical work so we’re delighted that the City Council has agreed with us that they are right for Exeter.
'This consent is another important step forwards and, with full planning approval now in place, we will continue our work around things like leasing, financing, pre-development surveying and tendering for contractors, which are all equally as important parts of bringing forward a major development like this.”
The Crown Estate and TH Real Estate are proposing to transform part of Exeter’s existing bus station into new restaurants, shops and a cinema.
