Green light given for £1.2m indoor go-karting track in Basildon

TeamSport Karting has been given planning permission from Basildon Council to build a £1.2m indoor go-karting track close to the town centre, creating 40 jobs.

TeamSport, the UK’s leading indoor karting operator, has a proven track record of opening and operating successful indoor karting venues across the country. TeamSport Basildon which is scheduled to open late November 2017 will be the company’s 24th venue.

The track will be built in an industrial unit on the Festival Business Park which is immediately adjacent to Basildon’s popular Festival Leisure Park.

Motor enthusiasts and thrill seekers can expect a 500m multilevel circuit, hair raising bends, exhilarating long straights and jaw dropping ramps for up to 16 karters to race around at any one time. There will be a full spectator area, professional race wear, full safety briefings and tuition.

There will also be a licensed Fuel Bar for drinks and food, modern meeting facilities for corporate clients, and free car parking.

Dominic Gaynor, Managing Director of TeamSport Karting, said, “We’re delighted to have received the go ahead to build a centre within Basildon, and our location close to the leisure park couldn’t be better.

'We now have a busy few months ahead as we commence the build before welcoming the town’s residents and visitors to the track in November.'
