Award-winning Isle of Arran hotel changes hands


The award-winning Glenisle Hotel in in Lamlash, Isle of Arran has been sold through Christie & Co with funding secured through Christie Finance.

Named the Best Small Country Hotel in the Scottish Islands 2016, the 13-bed hotel and bistro sits on the East Coast of the Isle, looking directly across Lamlash Bay.

The previous owners had owned the hotel since 2008 with the business now being sold to Neil Kennedy, a Chartered Accountant, and Anne Kennedy, who has a long-track record of working in the hospitality sector.

For over two years, the couple have been searching for the right hospitality business to invest in prior to identifying the Glenisle Hotel as an ideal opportunity moving forward.

Josh Hill, Business Agent in Christie & Co's Glasgow Office who brokered the sale ,commented, “We are delighted to have been involved in the sale of this beautiful hotel in Arran. We knew before we began marketing the Glenisle that there would be high levels of interest as we continue to see a growing appetite for boutique hotels across the region.”

Craig Dickson, Director of Christie Finance secured the funding on behalf of the Kennedy's on extremely competitive terms via a High Street lender. He commented, 'The hotel sector in Scotland is in a period of growth with a number of great businesses coming onto the market so far this year. With our sector experience we can secure the most competitive funding for any type of business buyer.'
