Caldesi in Campagna reopens with new look & extension

Celebrity chef Giancarlo Caldesi and cookery writer Katie Caldesi have reopened their popular Caldesi in Campagna restaurant in Bray with a brand new look and extension, following an £80k business loan from HSBC.

Originally opened in 2007, the well-loved rural restaurant is owned and run by the husband and wife team that are better known for their appearances on TV cookery shows such as Market Kitchen, MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen.

To celebrate Caldesi in Campagna’s 10th year of trading the restaurant has been extended to offer 25 more covers a night and the existing dining room has been refurbished, with a modern and vibrant new look. Alfresco dining can also be enjoyed in the herb garden and conservatory.

Kevin Dewick, HSBC’s Area Director for West End Business Banking, said, “The Caldesis’ enthusiasm for their business is truly inspiring and we are so pleased to have been able to support them with the refurbishment and extension of Caldesi in Campagna. The restaurant is well-loved and the larger space will mean even more guests can enjoy its authentic Tuscan menu.”

The Caldesis are passionate about sustainability and source game, meat and eggs from local suppliers to use alongside fresh seasonal produce for their fine dining menus. The restaurant also offers regular events such as pasta-making demonstrations, wine tastings and cookery courses.

Giancarlo Caldesi said, “Our customers know us for our authenticity, relaxed atmosphere and our warm welcome so we cannot wait to hear what they think of our new look restaurant. We have a number of local regulars that dine with us every week, so we hope they will enjoy their new surroundings even more than before thanks to HSBC.”

Caldesi in Campagna offers diners an authentic taste of rustic Tuscany paying homage to Giancarlo’s rural upbringing in Italy. Giancarlo and Kate own two restaurants, the La Cucina Caldesi cookery school and have published a number of cook books including Sicily: Recipes from an Italian island.
