London group Urban Pubs & Bars is set to implement a thermal sensor system at its venues in preparation for their safe re-opening.
At two of its sites, the group is using Fevershields.com commercial virus protection solutions for checking temperatures of customers and staff prior to their entry into the premises.
Initially, Urban Pubs & Bars tested and installed a Fevershields.com Foresight device at the entrance of its Bat & Ball venue at Westfield, Stratford.
UK-based Fevershields.com focusses solely on protecting businesses from viruses such as coronavirus.
Staff at the site got training with regards to the usage of the non-contact sensor that is capable of accurately reading a person’s temperature to within +/- 0.2°C. Their temperature will be displayed on a digital gauge on the front of the device.
The most common symptom of the COVID-19 virus is a raised temperature of more than 37.8°C, which indicates that the subject is likely to be contagious.
The tripod or wall-mounted Fevershield camera makes an audible alert and flashes red hazard lights when a temperature over 37.6°C is detected and registers the temperature on the front display.
