Burning Night Group falls into administration

Award-winning bar company, Burning Night Group has gone into administration.

The Leeds-based company was founded eight years ago and grew to operate six themed bars and restaurants.

The news follows the closure of the company’s Cardiff venue at Millennium Stadium, which proved to be financially unviable and had a negative impact on the firm’s costs.

However, the Nottingham site in Friar Lane, which houses the Bierkeller, Shooters' sports bar and Around the World, will continue trading as usual, along with bars in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.

Administrators, Andrew Mackenzie and Julian Pitts, stated that the other five complexes had experience growth in the last financial year, with further growth expected over the next 12 months.

Bierkellers make up a large part of the operational business of the Burning Night Group, and Mackenzie said, “It is important to stress that the companies which own the Bierkeller leases are not in administration and we are working closely with management and lenders to continue to trade these prime assets to their full.

'We are currently seeking a buyer for the venues in order to bring about the best outcome for the company’s creditors, staff and customers.”

Back in 2016, Burning Night secured over £1m from its crowdfunding campaign on Crowdstacker.
