MOD Pizza UK falls into administration

MOD Pizza UK, the counter-serve chain known for build-your-own pizza, which has nine restaurants across England, has been placed into administration.

Campbell Crossley & Davis is handling the administration process, and Dunstone, the backer of Five Guys UK, had taken full control of MOD Pizza in the UK.

The MOD concept enables customers to build their own individual, artisan-style pizza or salad, using MOD’s fresh-pressed dough, signature sauces and a choice of 34 toppings.

Pizzas are cooked ‘superfast’ in MOD’s gas fired ovens in 4 minutes, and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer.

Regardless of pizza toppings, or salad ingredients, the price always remain the same.

The MOD brand, which was recognised as America’s fastest growing restaurant chain in 2016, is the brain-child of Scott and Ally Svenson and was brought to the UK in a joint-venture with Sir Charles Dunstone and Roger Taylor.
