Arc Inspirations plans expansion following ‘record’ festive trading success

Arc Inspirations has announced a record-breaking festive trading period, achieving a 10.8% increase in sales over the five-week timeframe.

The company behind the Manahatta, Box, and Banyan bars achieved its highest-ever sales week in December, generating total sales of £2 million. Average weekly sales also hit a record high, reaching £106,000 per site.

The impressive sales growth was fuelled by the launch of three new locations in October and November. Manahatta cocktail bars debuted in Edinburgh and Nottingham, while a Box sports bar opened its doors in Sheffield.

Arc Inspirations, backed by BGF, reported that all three new venues achieved average weekly sales of £117,000 during the peak Christmas trading week in December.

This success precedes further expansion for the group, which currently operates 19 locations in cities such as Newcastle, Manchester, York, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Nottingham.

The group plans to open its first Liverpool site later this year, with a Cardiff venue and a second location in Edinburgh set to launch within the next 12 to 18 months.

Martin Wolstencroft, co-founder and CEO of Arc Inspirations, noted that the results were achieved despite significant trading challenges, including adverse weather conditions and transport disruptions.

He said: “To see our business open three large-scale bars in the run up to the critical December trading period, and then to deliver this level of sales is an extraordinary achievement.”
