Willmott Dixon to begin work on £23m Fleet leisure centre


Construction giants Willmott Dixon, have been given the green light to start work a new £23m leisure centre in Fleet, Hampshire.

Commencing next month, The Hart Leisure Centre is being built for Hart District Council and will be delivered through the Scape major works framework. Once completed, the centre will include three swimming pools, a 120-station gym, a climbing wall, coffee shop, multiple sports pitches and a sports hall. The site is at the edge of a new country park that will be completed in 2017.

Leisure centre operator Everyone Active will operate the the existing Hart and Frogmore leisure centres and also the new leisure centre when it opens.

David Bibby, managing director of Everyone Active, said: “We are thrilled to be appointed as chosen operator for the Hart District Council contract, which will be a fantastic addition to our expanding portfolio.
“The new leisure centre build will be a wonderful addition to the area and we look forward to working with Hart District Council to help increase participation in activity for the whole community.”
