Willmott Dixon secures £22m retirement village build

Major construction firm Willmott Dixon, has won a £22m contract with retirement specialist Anchor to create a retirement village in the grounds of Bishopstoke Park in Hampshire which involves building 170 homes and a 48-unit care home, allowing residents to live independently and receive care at the same time.

Bishopstoke Park was originally just farmland but was then converted to a house and grounds before being transformed into a small hospital in the 20th century.

Willmott Dixon will also transform the site to include a Wellness Centre, swimming pool, hair and beauty salon, village bistro and delicatessen.

Willmott created a similar retirement village for Anchor in 2009 in Buckinghamshire at Denham Garden Village.

The Bishopstoke deal takes the amount of specialist housing work secured by Willmott this year to nearly £200m.
