Britvic unveils upgraded National Distribution Centre

Britvic, the global drinks company, has unveiled its newly upgraded national distribution centre in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, UK, following a £25 million investment.

Britvic has upgraded the technical systems and facilities at its distribution centre to enhance warehouse and logistical operations. This facility supports both national and international customers, providing a range of soft drinks, including Robinsons, Tango, and J2O.

Thanks to the investment, the Leicestershire facility now boasts 17 new automatic cranes, 18 dispatch lanes for loading lorries, and 20 automated vehicles for transporting pallets within the warehouse. This upgrade allows the facility to move up to 600 pallets per hour from the warehouse to its customers.

Nigel Paine, supply chain director at Britvic, said: “I am delighted that we have completed the renovation of our national distribution centre in Lutterworth. This cutting-edge facility enables us to continue offering our customers the wide range of Britvic products they love, while also providing our employees with a dynamic work environment that supports their best performance.'

Annually, the distribution centre sees 75,000 trucks transporting 1.9 million pallets to over 900 locations pass through its security gatehouse. With the facility's enhanced capacity, this truck volume is expected to rise to handle the increased number of pallets.
