Bottlegreen owner acquires mid-strength beer brand

SHS, the company behind popular beverage brands such as WKD, Meridian, Bottlegreen, and Shloer, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring Shandy Shack, a brand specialising in mid-strength ABV beers.

The acquisition comes after the two companies collaborated earlier this year to craft a raspberry lager featuring Bottlegreen’s raspberry cordial.

This partnership aims to accelerate Shandy Shack's growth, enabling it to better cater to the 40% of adults looking to moderate their alcohol consumption.

Andy Morris-Jinks, managing director of SHS Drinks, said: “The mid-strength abv market is seeing rapid growth as consumers seek options for low-tempo, relaxed socialising. Shandy Shack’s innovative and award-winning product range aligns perfectly with our vision for broadening our consumer base and tapping into emerging market trends.”

Shandy Shack will become part of SHS Drinks’ New Ventures division, with co-founders Ed Stapleton and Tom Stevens remaining at the helm to drive the brand’s development and growth.

Stapleton said: “It is a fantastic feeling to join forces with SHS Drinks to accelerate the development of Shandy Shack. SHS Drinks is a brilliant organisation that share our values and vision for the brand. It recognises the importance of introducing a compelling mid-strength offering to enhance its diverse and dynamic portfolio.

“This partnership will provide unparalleled opportunities to leverage SHS’s expertise, resources and support to expand our brand’s reach.”
