A key leader in Hilton’s European F&B strategy for the past 10 years has joined Meiko UK's management team.
Jon Sharp, with over 35 years of industry experience, will take on the role of Specification Manager for Meiko's 'care and protect' sectors. These sectors include specialised washing systems for care homes and breathing apparatus for firefighters.
Mr. Sharp, who brings extensive sales leadership and business development expertise, was instrumental in driving significant F&B brand growth for Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn during his decade-long tenure as a key member of Hilton’s leadership team across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Paul Anderson, managing director of Meiko UK said: “The appointment of Jon Sharp brings extensive experience in sales leadership and business development in the catering sector. His leadership and visionary approach will be instrumental in driving growth in these two critical sectors for Meiko.'
“I am delighted that Jon has taken the role of assisting us further in these valued sectors. He has such an exemplary background that it made perfect sense to absorb so much from someone’s expertise in further driving brand recognition.”
Mr. Sharp will collaborate with David Bentley, Specification Manager for Meiko Green, and Mick Jary, Specification Director at Meiko UK.
Mr Sharp said: “I am thrilled to work for Paul and Meiko UK as the new specification manager for the Protect & Care division. This role offers an incredible chance to further elevate our outstanding product solutions for the essential services that support our communities.
“It is both an honour and a significant responsibility to contribute to solutions that truly impact the lives of those who protect and care for others.”
In his new role, Mr. Sharp will focus on key product groups offered by Meiko, including its innovative bedpan washer-disinfection equipment and breathing apparatus (BA) washer-disinfectors.
Meiko pioneered a unique method for washing BA equipment in a warewashing machine and is a leader in the cleaning of respiratory protective equipment.
The system ensures the safety of BA equipment users, such as firefighters, by guaranteeing that their gear is fully clean and safe. It also ensures that ancillary equipment, like oxygen tanks, is thoroughly disinfected, sanitised, and ready for use.
The UK care sector is experiencing a major transformation as it shifts from using disposables to embracing reusables.
Meiko’s washer disinfectors, equipped with hands-free operation and fail-safe hygiene features, play a crucial role in ensuring staff safety and maintaining complete hygiene in care homes and hospitals.
