Handmade Burger Company secures £600k for expansion & refurbs


Birmingham-based restaurant chain, Handmade Burger Company has secured £600k to support the launch of its new outlet at Grand Central in Birmingham.

The funds have come from Finance Birmingham for the fit-out of its new Grand Central venue, which will be its largest with 200 seats.

The £600k deal will also see handmade burger Company refurbish two of its existing restaurants at Brindleyplace in Birmingham City Centre and Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull. The work on these outlets is due to be complete by the end of the year.

Founded in 2006 by brothers Matt, Richard and Chris Sargeant, Handmade Burger Company is opening its seventh restaurant in the Midlands in September.

The brand currently operates 23 restaurants across the UK, including in the Bullring, and employs more than 200 staff.
