Dundee City Council's plans to create a new regional gymnastics centre have been given a boost as sportscotland is to invest £1.2m in the scheme.
This will just part of the multi-million pound refurbishment of the city's Dick McTaggart Sports Centre. Changing rooms and a café are also proposed.
The centre has been closed since August 2010 after Dundee College gave up its lease.
