£120m film & TV studio planned for Dundee

Development consortium, Studio City Scotland is in discussions with Dundee City Council about plans for a £120m film and TV studio in Dundee, including a media theme park and games centre.

The studio development will incorporate state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly studios with multiple sound stages.

Although the hit series Outlander (pictured) has been filmed on location in Scotland, the country lost out on Game of Thrones to Belfast because producers did not believe there was enough suitable studio space available.

Studio City Scotland also hopes to take advantage of Dundee’s global reputation in the video games industry with the creation of a screen and media theme park and eGames centre.
