Dundee City Council seeks construction firm for £22m railway station & hotel

Dundee City Council is looking for a construction firm to deliver its planned £22m landmark railway station and hotel building, as part of a £1b regeneration of the city’s waterfront on the banks of the River Tay.

Sleeperz Hotels, the UK budget hotel company, has signed up for the scheme, which already has planning. It will be Sleeperz's fourth UK hotel in Dundee and will offer 120 beds.

The city council in Dundee has committed to a 30-year plan to transform 8kms of waterfront and at the heart of it will be the first regional branch of the V&A Museum of art and design outside London.

The museum is expected to become a major attraction and deliver tourists and culture vultures to a proud Scottish city that has already made a big cultural contribution to Britain.

Alongside the museum there has been lots of investment from leisure companies, with restaurants, hotels and bars looking to be part of the new Dundee.
